About

Hello everyone and welcome to my website! First of all, thank you so much for stopping by.

My name is Saira and I’m profoundly deaf. Most people think that travel blogging and writing is easy but it isn’t for me, as English is not my first language. I have had some help from my sisters and other people with the English editing of this site.

I have redesigned my old site, after 10 years as a blogger. I’m excited to use my own domain with the website name, SairaTravels.com. I wanted to share the experience of my travels as a deaf woman of color around the world.

I’m a photography lover; my biggest passion has always been traveling. I’ve had the chance to visit more than 45 countries around the world. My goal in writing this blog is to share some of my experiences and tips with you, that might help you on your next trip or at least give you an insight into how to travel while deaf.

I have traveled to Mecca – Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Netherlands (Amsterdam, Maastricht), Belgium (Bruges, Brussels), Germany (Cologne), France (Paris), Spain (Barcelona), Turkey, Egypt, Dubai, Japan, Malaysia (Kuching), Singapore, Italy (Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice, and Milan), Iceland, Bolivia (La Paz, Sucre, Potosí, Uyuni), Chile (San Pedro de Atacama), Argentina (Salta, Buenos Aires) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro). Most recently I visited: Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Phuket).

Prettiest villages in Cornwall (i will blog about the UK soon).

In the UK, where I am from. I traveled to popular areas: Isle of Wright – Island, Bristol, Cornwall (Falmouth, Bodelva, Saint Austell, Penzance, Newquay, Land’s End, St Ives), Brighton, Hastings, Lake District (Yorkshire), and Scotland (Glasgow).
